The Fish Quay Heritage Partnership Group

The Fish Quay Heritage Partnership Group was created to steer the heritage led regeneration of the Fish Quay Conservation Area and in particular to develop and deliver the English Heritage funded 'Partnership schemes in conservation areas' initiative.

It will also develop applications for additional funding and help deliver approved schemes. The remit of the group will be reassessed after the completion of the English Heritage scheme.

It is responsible for the following:

  • Identifying and agreeing the priorities for the heritage-led regeneration of North Shields Fish Quay Conservation Area. 
  • Promoting understanding and awareness of the local and natural history of the North Shields Fish Quay Conservation Area. 
  • Monitoring the administration of the Common Fund by North Tyneside Council. 
  • Publicising the initiative in the local area.
  • Approving broad expenditure in relation to the implementation plan. 
  • Approving individual applications to the grant pool in line with the aims of English Heritage. 
  • Monitoring the performance of the successful grant applications  
  • Providing progress reports of the Group's activities to the Regeneration Partnership. 
  • Defining its terms of reference and making necessary amendments to incorporate changes to its remit. 
  • Agreeing the expansion or dissolution of the Group as required.
