The Fish Quay has been a focus of major regeneration and investment in recent years. This has included the modernising of several properties to a high standard for small and medium sized business use. Already, there is a great variety of successful businesses operating on the Fish Quay where the traditional and modern sit comfortably alongside each other.
As well as the more traditional operations, such as Taylor’s Seafoods (who’ve been on the Quay for many years), other successful companies such as Quay2 Media public relations, Microvention medical devices and Tutti & Co jewellery and accessories have all made the Fish Quay their home. Already busy restaurants such as Irvins Brasserie and Sambucas have been joined by newcomers David Kennedy’s River Café and Oceans Restaurant.
Business on the Quay is given promotional assistance by the Fish Quay Business Hub (with support from North Tyneside Council). The newly established Hub reflects the Quay’s community approach amongst businesses and seeks to promote general commerce and trade as well as drive tourism to the area.
